The "soap sisters" will be taking a trip to New Orleans October 23rd-30th, so any orders placed during that time will be processed the first week of November. I recently came across a website selling gris-gris bags. The gris-gris became traditional in New Orleans where they were used for various things such as attracting money and love, stopping gossip, protecting your home, maintaining good health and achieving just about anything you are in need of. A gris-gris is ritually made at an altar containing the four elements of earth, air, water and fire. The number of ingredients placed in the gris-gris is always one, three, five, seven, nine, or thirteen--never an even number or more than thirteen. Stones and colored objects are chosen for their occult and astrological meanings corresponding to the purpose for which the gris-gris is to be used. Perhaps we will be inspired to make a gris-gris soap reminiscent of our trip to the "Big Easy"...
Speaking of November, the holidays are right around the corner! We are busy making batches and batches of soap for the upcoming holidays. If you have a special scent request, or an extra large order that you'd like to place for the holidays, please be sure to get those orders in by the end of October so that we will have time to make them. Soaps are the perfect gift for teachers, stocking stuffers, hostess gifts or any special occasion. Our limited edition Pumpkin Spice Bars and O'Tannenbaum Bars are great for the holidays and, if you are in winter denial like I am, our new Mojito Bars can whisk you back to those carefree days of summer. If you still can't decide which soap to choose, our Soap of the Month Club is the perfect solution! Check out our website club page: http://www.sistersoapco.com/club/ for more details.

I always learn so much from this blog, who knew that people would put so much time and thought into making a bag!
